SWISS SPACE TOUR - EMILIA-ROMAGNA

On National Space Day 2025, CShark participated with great interest in the Swiss Space Tour - Emilia-Romagna, a mission designed to strengthen ties between the Swiss and Italian aerospace ecosystems and create new opportunities for international collaboration between research centers, universities, startups, and high-tech companies.

The initiative, co-organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland (CCIS) and the Consulates General of Italy in Zurich and Geneva, together with ART-ER and Regione Emilia-Romagna, promoted a clear objective: to connect skills and infrastructure to foster concrete partnerships, joint projects, and technological development in the space sector.

Regione Emilia-Romagna continues to stand out for its solid and structured innovation ecosystem, based on technology parks, research centers, and innovative companies, supported by ART-ER and specialized aggregators/clusters. It is an ideal context for generating synergies with high-tech international hubs such as those in Switzerland.

The tour started in Zurich at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH Zurich), hosted by ETH | Space. The Emilia-Romagna delegation was able to engage with an ecosystem of absolute excellence, also supported by ESA BIC Switzerland, opening discussions on highly topical issues such as mechatronics, microgravity experiments, satellite technologies, and aerospace production. It was a valuable opportunity to reiterate how cross-border cooperation has become an indispensable accelerator for innovation.

In Payerne and Lausanne, the focus shifted to innovation and technology transfer environments, thanks to visits to Swiss Aeropole and Unlimitrust Technopole. Here, researchers and entrepreneurs are pushing the boundaries of the New Space Economy with concrete, market-oriented approaches. The complementarity between Swiss excellence and Italian ingenuity emerged strongly, capable of translating into high-value collaborations.

The last day, at the Kickstart innovation center, consolidated the mission of the tour: to build bridges that lead to future projects, industrial partnerships, and international growth. This is a fundamental step in transforming networking and discussion into operational opportunities.

The Swiss Space Tour - Emilia-Romagna was more than just a meeting agenda: it was a celebration of international collaboration, a concrete reminder that when ecosystems connect, innovation accelerates.

CShark would like to thank all the partners, institutions, and participants who contributed their expertise and passion. We look forward to the opportunities that have arisen in recent days, with the hope that the “seeds” planted will grow and become new shared ambitions.
