The Emilia-Romagna Region has charted an ambitious path toward the future of aerospace by strengthening and enhancing its supply chain through global initiatives. In this context, international missions have played a key role by fostering dialogue and learning from the best sector ecosystems—from Houston to Montréal, and through Tokyo, Washington, and South Korea.
Confirming this commitment, an institutional and business mission was held in Japan from May 17 to 24, 2025. This experience, marked by its dual nature, pursued two key objectives: on one hand, it promoted the regional aerospace supply chain during Expo 2025 in Osaka through an event organized in collaboration between the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the Italian Embassy in Tokyo; on the other hand, it generated concrete synergies by strengthening relationships with leading Japanese companies and organizations, both in the vibrant Kansai region (Osaka) and in the beating heart of Tokyo.
This initiative forms part of a continuous series of strategic activities, echoing the success of the mission carried out in Tokyo in December 2023 on the occasion of Italian Space Day, an event in which we had the pleasure of participating. In fact, the Japanese mission offered the opportunity to engage deeply with eminent players in the space economy, including SpaceBD, Axel Space, I-space, LEONARDO SPA, and Space-One.
Shifting our focus to Expo 2025 Osaka, the event hosted over 150 countries and numerous international organizations, providing a unique platform for collaboration among governments, companies, and institutions. The exhibition area, located on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka Bay and spanning 155 hectares, addressed crucial topics such as sustainability, technology, health, and the society of the future, featuring pavilions dedicated to advanced solutions for human well-being and global development.
During the event, Italy shone with a pavilion that celebrated creativity, culture, and technology, showcasing the excellence of Made in Italy. In particular, our company—led by Alessandro Fanni—had the honor of participating alongside the Emilia-Romagna Region delegation, composed of Andrea Resca, Christa Collina, and Adriano Gilli, as well as the ART-ER Consortium, represented by Lorenzo Calabri and Sara D’Attorre.
Expo 2025 Osaka emerged as an extraordinary opportunity to explore the future of innovation and international cooperation, leaving an indelible mark on the global stage with millions of visitors in attendance.
It was a privilege to take part in this experience: we express our sincere gratitude to the Emilia-Romagna Region and ART-ER for making it possible, while also celebrating the dynamic trajectory of CShark, whose presence continues to be consolidated in the international market.
